AFM 90 degree specimen mounts

Nano-Tec 90 degrees specimen mounts are intended for mounting or clamping AFM/SPM specimens at an angle of 90 degrees to enable easy imaging of cross sections or sides of a specimens. They are made from magnetic stainless steel (alloy 430) and can be used on AFM/SPM systems which include a magnet in the specimen stage (the same systems which are using magnetic metal specimen support discs). Available Nano-Tec AFM/SPM specimen mounts and holders are:

• 1 AFM/SPM 90-degree specimen mount for mounting a cross section directly against the vertical side of the mount. Use glue to adhere to the side, rather than double-sided sticky tape, since the specimen could still move, which could cause imaging artefacts. Dimensions are Ø12 x 4.5mm with a base thickness of 1mm on the thinner side.
• 2 AFM/SPM mini-vice with a 4mm slot. The specimen is securely held by a small set screw. This method is quicker and ensures the holder is free from adhesives. Can be used for specimens up to 4mm or for multiple thinner specimens clamped against each other. Dimensions are Ø12 x 4.5mm with a 4mm slot.
• 3 AFM/SPM specimen holder with S-Clip to hold the specimen or cross section securely up to a maximum thickness of 2mm. Ideal for thin sections or cross sections of silicon chips. Dimensions are Ø12 x 4.5mm with a base thickness of 1mm on the thinner side.
